Altrus Company History

Since 1989, Altrus, Inc. has been a leader in the Alternative Living Service industry, which provides seniors and individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities an alternative to institutionalization. In addition to maintaining relationships with family model and host homes, Altrus owns and maintains six group care homes and multiple CLA homes.  

The mission of Altrus is to enable individuals who need help with daily living activities to lives as independently as possible, for as long as possible. The values of Altrus hold that all individuals deserve to live with dignity and should have the freedom to choose where and how they receive care. The owners of Altrus share over 150 years of experience in the senior care industry and are strong advocates for home and community based services, Medicaid waivers, and Olmstead initiatives.  

Altrus staff works together to ensure that adults with disabilities are able to live a normal and full life in the least restrictive living environment of their choice.
